Tournament time...
On Saturday, April 17, 2004, the Mount View Golden Knights traveled to Bowen Field in Mercer County for the Coppinger Tournament in Mercer County where they took on the Summers County High School Bobcats. The Knights led at one point but did suffer the loss 20-10.
Familiar Sight for the Knights...
At the Coppinger Tournament at Hunnicutt Field in Princeton, Mount View faced the Tazewell Bulldogs. The Knights played a hard game but again came up short. The final score 7-3. The Golden Knights are now 2-6 on the season.
Knights' Losing Ways Continue...
The Golden Knights returned to Hunnicutt Field for one of their best played games of the season. The Golden Knights faced Grayson County of Virginia, who remained undefeated in the Coppinger Tournament and regular season play. The Knights held Grayson to a close game but mistakes and miscues led to another losss for the Golden Knights after a long ten innings. The Knights took the loss by a final score of 10-6.
The Streak is Over... The Knights Win!!!
Finally, the Knights add a game to the win column. The Golden Knights again come from behind, this time to win by a final score of 8-7. Senior Greg Vineyard hit his third home run of the season and his brother Doug hit his first of the year. Congratulations Golden Knights. The Knights are now 3-8 on the season.
